MEWP Aerial Lifts Training

Aerial Lifts are now called MEWPs (Mobile Elevated Work Platforms) and there are new rules that supervisors must be trained in addition to all the occupants. This is specified in ANSI 92.20 and take effect in December 2019. Our course helps you meet the new regulations for MEWPs.

Our MEWPs Training covers the following topics:

  • Site risk assessment to identify hazards
  • Emergency rescue plans
  • Selection and use of appropriate MEWP for the task
  • Access, preparation and maintenance of the site
  • MEWP maintenance, inspection(s) and repairs
  • Trained and authorized personnel
  • MEWP specific training
  • Local site requirements and identified hazards
  • Qualified supervisor monitoring and compliance
  • Preventing unauthorized use
  • The safety of persons not involved in the operation of the MEWP
  • Proper documentation and record retention

Class Equipment Requirements

  • Students must have their PPE’s, harness and 3’ lanyards of SRL’s for these classes and must have already had Fall Protection safety training. Take our Online Fall Protection (Authorized Person) course if needed.
