Rigging Training Courses

Our Rigger Level 1 Training, Certified Rigger Level 1 Exam, and Certified Signal Person Training courses are available online for individuals and for groups of employees. All of our courses are available onsite at your company facility for groups of up to 10 employees.

American Crane & Safety’s rigging training classes meet the OSHA requirements of Rigger, Certified Rigger  Level 1, Master Rigger and Qualified Signal Person training. Our rigging courses combine a dynamic multi-media presentation, classroom discussion, hands-on exercises, and written quizzes and exams. The online courses include all of the same material, including audio, videos, workshop examples, quizzes and exams, as our onsite classes. Our online classes for Rigger Level 1, Certified Rigger Level 1, and Certified Signal Person are available in Spanish.

We also offer Fall Protection, Crane Awareness Training for Supervisors, Trench Safety, and other crane rigging safety courses. All of our onsite training classes are offered in English and, upon special request, can be offered in Spanish.

Our Rigger Level 1 course provides the necessary training to meet the OSHA and ASME standards of a Rigger. This 7 hour training provides the necessary training to designate the employee to work as a competent basic rigger.  Our Certified Rigger Level 1 Course provides the above training and includes the testing required to meet the ASME definition of a Qualified Rigger (“Certified”).

Our California Rigger Level 1 course provides the necessary training to meet the OSHA, ASME, and Cal/OSHA Title 8 Regulations of a Rigger. This 7 hour training provides the necessary training to designate the employee to work as a competent basic rigger.  Our Cal/OSHA Title 8 Certified Rigger Level 1 Course provides the above training and includes the testing required to meet the ASME definition of a Qualified Rigger (“Certified”).

Our Maryland Rigger Level 1 course provides the necessary training to meet the OSHA, ASME, and Maryland Title 9 Regulations of a Rigger. This 7 hour training provides the necessary training to designate the employee to work as a competent basic rigger.  Our Maryland Title 9 Certified Rigger Level 1 Course provides the above training and includes the testing required to meet the ASME definition of a Qualified Rigger (“Certified”).

Our 5 hour Hand Signal Training Course provides the training necessary to signal a crane and to be a designated spotter for a crane.

This 2 day class is designed for the Journeyman rigger and teaches rigging principles and methods, lift planning, load turning, and fall zone to exceed OSHA requirements 1926.1404(r)(1) and 1926.1425(c). Students must have completed Qualified Rigger Level 1 and have 2 years of rigging experience.

Designed to qualify you as a Master Rigger, our 1 day course teaches advanced rigging principles and methods to help design the rigging project and direct the Journeyman Rigger. This is an intense course including hands-on exercises, tension and stress calculations, and a written exam.

Per OSHA 1910.30, effective May 17, 2017, before any employee is exposed to a fall hazard the employer must provide training for each employee exposed to such hazard. This 4 hour course meets the OSHA Fall Protection Standard for construction.

Crane and Rigging Awareness is intended for construction engineers, supervisors, and owners that need to learn about crane safety on construction sites and how to develop comprehensive crane safety plans.
